This Cookie Policy explains how SM Worx Group Ltd, trading as Portal Worx ("we", "us", or "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on the Portal Worx platform and website at portal-worx.com (the "Service").
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve functionality, and provide information to website owners. Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remain until they expire or are deleted).
Portal Worx uses only essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Service. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| access_token | Authenticates your session and verifies your identity on each request | Essential | Short-lived (minutes) |
| refresh_token | Renews your access token without requiring you to log in again | Essential | Session-based |
| csrftoken | Protects against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks by validating form submissions | Essential / Security | Session-based |
All cookies used by Portal Worx are configured with the following security measures:
In addition to our own cookies, the Service uses the following third-party technologies that may store data on your device or process information during your session:
We use Cloudflare Turnstile on our account registration page to protect against automated bots and fraudulent account creation. Turnstile may use browser-based signals (such as device characteristics and interaction patterns) to verify that you are a real user. Turnstile is designed as a privacy-preserving alternative to traditional CAPTCHAs and does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. For more information, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
The Service uses the Google Maps API to display project locations. When you view a project with a location map, Google may process your IP address and device information to serve map content. Google Maps is loaded only when you access project location features. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
We take a privacy-first approach. Our cookies serve only one purpose: keeping you securely logged in and protecting your account. We do not use cookies to:
Because we use only strictly necessary cookies, we do not require a cookie consent banner under GDPR, UK GDPR, or POPIA. Essential cookies are exempt from consent requirements as they are necessary for the Service to function.
Because we use only essential cookies, disabling them will prevent the Service from functioning correctly. If you disable cookies in your browser settings, you will be unable to log in or use the platform.
Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. You can typically find these settings in the "Privacy" or "Security" section of your browser preferences.
In certain development environments, the Service may use browser local storage as a fallback for authentication tokens. This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to third parties. In production, the Service uses HTTP-only cookies exclusively.
If we introduce new types of cookies in the future (such as analytics or preference cookies), we will update this policy and notify you at least 30 days in advance. Any non-essential cookies would require your explicit consent before being set, and we would implement a cookie consent mechanism at that time.
